“A wonderful, play-based kindy with the most caring staff. Alison goes over and above with the help of Julie and Sandra to cater to each child’s learning style. Hillarys Community Kindy has given my child the confidence and tools he needs to step into Pre Primary.”

Meet Our Teachers…
Our teachers and assistants are highly motivated, qualified and dedicated to early childhood education. We are employed by the West Australian Education Department. We share a common interest in providing a safe, caring environment where children can learn and grow together.
Ellen Martin
“I am passionate about creating a nurturing, play-based learning environment where every child feels safe, valued and confident. I believe early childhood is a magical time for curiosity, connection and discovery, and I work closely with families to build strong partnerships that support each child’s growth. I am committed to fostering independence, resilience and a love of learning, while creating a warm community where children and families feel a true sense of belonging.”
I began my teaching journey at Hillarys Primary School before being appointed to a position here, where I had the privilege of working alongside Alison Ford. I later accepted a position at a hard-to-staff school, where my love for teaching truly blossomed. After welcoming my little girl, Evie, I returned to Hillarys Community Kindergarten and have been teaching here ever since. I am incredibly passionate about community kindergartens and truly believe there is no better beginning to a child’s learning journey.
Sandra Thompson
“I am very proud to be part of such a passionate group of educators delivering a wonderful and diverse play-based kindy program.”
I started working at Hillary’s Community Kindergarten in 2006 as an Education Assistant. I have been working within early childhood for the past 33 years both in child care and the early years school system. I hold both an Associate Diploma in Education (0-6 years) and a Certificate for Education Support. I enjoy working with the children in the first year of their school journey, as their enthusiasm for learning is magic.
